Overview

Bloom Artifact marked the debut fragrance of a small-batch atelier blending traditional perfumery with contemporary artistic expression. The goal was to launch not just a product, but a mood — one rooted in sensory depth, floral abstraction, and quiet luxury. Our challenge was to interpret scent visually in a way that felt sculptural, emotional, and unplaceable in time.

Execution

At the heart of the campaign were still-life compositions that fused flowers with custom-designed perfume bottles — each arrangement treated like a miniature art installation. In some frames, blooms burst through glass; in others, they floated mid-dissolution, submerged in fluid or suspended in shadow. The aesthetic tone was soft, cinematic, and introspective — built with natural lighting, depth of field, and desaturated palettes.

Typography was restrained and purposeful, designed to echo perfume labeling and archival botanical studies. Poetic copywriting accompanied the imagery — abstract yet intimate, encouraging the viewer to feel rather than decode. We extended the campaign across art booklets, boutique pop-ups, and short slow-motion films focused on texture, transience, and tactility.

Design language

To create a deeper sensory connection, we developed custom "scent maps" — abstract, diagram-like visuals that plotted the emotional and temporal evolution of each fragrance note. These non-linear charts provided a visual narrative for the scent experience, from top note spark to base note warmth.

These scent maps were integrated into the packaging as fold-out inserts, adapted into digital experiences on the brand’s website, and featured as wall graphics in physical retail spaces — creating continuity between the product, its story, and the customer’s own perception.

Release & reception

Bloom Artifact launched during Milan Design Week in collaboration with a circle of floral artists and installation designers. The campaign’s artistic approach drew attention from niche luxury media, design tastemakers, and high-concept retailers. The work was featured in Wallpaper and The Gentlewoman and sparked an ongoing brand partnership focused on seasonal scent installations and collector editions.
